Senior National Technical Manager

To have primary responsibility for establishing, maintaining, promoting and developing best practice, technical and risk management standards within BRS in accordance with the appropriate strategic objectives; reporting to the partner in charge of BRS nationally, working with the Risk Management Partner, IT, marketing and other BRS partners and directors. Duties include:
- Co-ordinating and updating all BRS manuals and checklists, writing new manuals and checklists as appropriate. - Training - involvement in the internal training programme. - Co-ordinating, managing and carrying out inter-office peer reviews; keeping under review an internal regulation system to comply with IPS self certification and ICAEW practice. - Supporting the continuing implementation and development of IPS. - Responding promptly and fully to technical queries from any BRS member. - Assimilating technical knowledge, referring new and important issues to BRS. This includes reporting to BRS on Dear IP and Technical Bulletins. - Identifying and reporting areas of risk, setting up new systems to minimise risk. Reporting to Senior partner/Technical Committee to ensure policy decisions are made in key areas. - Reporting compliance and regulatory issues to National Risk Partner. - Working with any employee or partner to achieve the above. Being responsible for managing an Assistant Technical Manager who reports to them. - Other projects as agreed to support the above.
THE PERSON:
Insolvency experience within a professional practice with high levels of client contact; management skills; strong technical, commercial and business acumen together with good communication skills to be used at all levels.
Experience of having introduced and implemented new internal procedures is desirable together with an ability to respond to technical queries quickly and efficiently.
