Reporting to the Head of Valuation Analytics, the Valuation Analytics Analyst will assist with valuation analysis and oversight on a portfolio of investments, including but not limited to co-investments, fund investments, and direct positions.
Responsibilities: will include:
Perform General Partners valuation reviews and verification, for materials as well as for audit purposes
Preparation of materials (mostly for the valuation of co-investments and the monthly valuations for regulated investment funds) and attendance at meetings to provide input
Assisting the Head of Valuation Analytics with the implementation of a new strategy/process for verification of co-investment valuations, as well as the development of the valuation process building efficiencies and focusing on continuous improvement
Assisting with the quarterly production cycles particularly for the more complex valuations (e.g. investments with provisions, debt investments, etc.) and review of the materials
Assist in providing valuation technical support (including industry trends and regulations)
Providing support and analysis to external audit teams and assisting with the management of the annual audits relating to valuations
Requirements:
Accounting and/or auditing experience in private equity funds/ illiquid investments and/or company valuations an advantage
Good knowledge of global fund and corporate vehicle structures
Experience in analysing General Partner valuation reports and ability to prepare financial models (e.g. discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction)
Strong understanding of valuation methodologies including good understanding of best practice valuation techniques under IPEV/US GAAP for level 3 securities
Performing valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), organisational , interpersonal, and teaming skills
Strong knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
