Job description

Our client is establishing a new Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the market. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled M&A Associate to play a pivotal role in shaping the success of this new venture.

Position Overview:
As an M&A Associate, you will be an integral part of the newly formed M&A team, working closely with senior leadership to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic mergers and acquisitions. You will be responsible for conducting financial analyses, due diligence, and supporting the deal execution process. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the firm while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:

Proactively identify and assess potential M&A opportunities through market research and industry analysis.
Evaluate target companies based on strategic fit, financial performance, and growth potential.
Financial Analysis:

Conduct in-depth financial modeling and valuation analyses to assess the financial implications of potential transactions.
Analyze and interpret financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making processes.
Due Diligence:

Lead due diligence efforts, coordinating with cross-functional teams to assess legal, financial, and operational aspects of target companies.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with potential transactions.
Deal Execution:

Assist in the preparation of deal-related documentation, including offering memoranda, presentations, and transaction agreements.
Collaborate with legal, finance, and other stakeholders to navigate the transaction execution process.
Market Research and Industry Analysis:

Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics to provide valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
Relationship Management:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investment bankers, legal advisors, and potential acquisition targets.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA a plus.
2+ years of experience in an M&A focussed team i.e investment banking, private equity, or corporate development.
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
